My name is Karen Shepherd. I am the owner of these beautiful vibrant little heartbeats..I’m the person you will be speaking to when you inquire about purchasing a baby.
My pack of Chi’s is forever changing with each new litter and when I acquire a new stud or a gorgeous new breeder girl on my Journey to obtain the best dogs I can find with the best temperaments & above all else healthy sound and vibrant adult dogs. My breeder dogs are all AKC registered and they do come with their registration papers…
Our breeding program focuses on genetic health, temperament, and conformation to the AKC breed standards.
I met my first chihuahua way back when I was 17 years old and totally fell in love with this breed. I went to meet the grandparents of my future husband, at the time I had no clue that we together would be carrying on the tradition of his family’s admiration for chihuahuas..
It has been my dream to one day raise these precious little heartbeats so I studied and I read and I gathered information to learn everything there is to know about Chihuahuas. The more I learned the more I felt destined to grow my knowledge and the more I read the more I realized just how much I felt that I needed to devote my time, my energy and my life toward this JOURNEY into breeding these little companions.
Fast forward to February 18, 2014, I found my first applehead girl and brought her home.
Everyone that knows me also knows Zoey. She is loved and cherished by everyone that meets her Happy little self. All 4 pounds of her tiny little body carries this huge personality that captures the attention from everybody around her..

That tiny little tail is always wagging which causes her entire body to wiggle. She never barks, she whimpers. This is how she talks to anyone that gives her attention. she cuddles, she entertains and she fills my home with so much JOY and companionship… Her energy is mesmerizing.. With so much exuberance in that tiny little body in just 6 short months I was absolutely hooked.. This is when I started searching for my first girl to start my breeding program & fulfill my dream of raising these incredible babies, that started so many years ago
Zoey is now 10 years old, she rules the roost around here..
We are a small in-house breeder of Applehead Chihuahuas. They are raised in my home under foot 24-7. They sleep in my bed, they eat dinner with us and they have all won the hearts of their human family.
My house is bouncing with so much love from the charisma that these dogs exude, they get excited about everything and nothing at all.
So today, I lead… upward and onwards.. I am a proud leader of my pack of Chihuahuas and I am here to assist you in finding your perfect baby to fulfill your dream in owning your very own lifetime companion.
We are AKC inspected and certified in compliance with state and regional regulations. We gently and ever so tenderly raise all of our babies “hands on” every day, hoping to achieve a family unity amongst all of them.
They are my family.
Babies are raised in our nursery with 24 hour 7.days a week hands on care and continuous monitoring ..
They are socialized as much as possible, which in turn teaches them to grow learning proper behavior to become sweet and loving adults.
I have added music and sound stimulation to their canine quarters.. We have pinkalicious kennels for the girls and black manly kennels for the boys with extra fluffy minky pads for them to sleep on to ensure safety for their footing and comfort in sleeping for their bones to include daytime play and beginning training lessons. come, sit, go night night, coaxing them to automatically go in their pens on their own and potty training them to use indoor washable potty pads. We do not allow them to go outside until they have had all of their puppy shots.
Nutrition is a big deal around here, They have never eaten food from a can. Their food is freshly cooked daily
We include fresh meat lightly cooked to retain as much nutrition as possible, a variety of fresh steamed vegetables with added vitamins and probiotics for a complete well rounded meal. To include a wide variety of fresh raw vegetables for snacks. To include bell peppers, cucumber, celery is a big hit for it assists in cleansing their liver and kidneys. They all love their liver and salmon bites and an occasional sardine for their Omega 3’s for eye and teeth health in these important early stages of development.
Our dogs and our babies have routine veterinary care from my licensed vet and receive a full wellness check and have at least two shots prior to going home to their new families. The night before they are due to leave they all receive a nice warm gentle soothing bath, blow dried and foot pads are trimmed of excess hair and nails are cut and filed. So when they make their journey to you, they are fresh and clean and smell heavenly, all ready for cuddles.
